Choose the right number size
On a 5-by-7-inch vertical panel, a single-digit number can be approximately 3½–4 inches tall. For double digits, keep the full grouping about 4½ inches wide and 3–3½ inches tall. Leave at least ⅝ inch between the bottom of the number and the LED slot so the glow is visible beneath it.
Use one elegant serif or clean modern font throughout. Avoid ultra-thin scripts: the small pieces are harder to weed and less readable from across a dim room.
Step 1: test the full lighting system
Charge every base or install fresh batteries. Turn on all twelve together in the lighting mode you plan to use. For an upscale dinner, steady warm white is usually more refined than color cycling. Label each base discreetly underneath and note any that run dimmer or switch off early.

Step 4: clean and apply the numerals

Position the transfer tape using the master template and a ruler. Burnish the number from the center outward, then peel the transfer tape back at a low angle. Press down any lifting edge with the clean cloth rather than a fingernail.
Step 5: add the emerald border
Mask a narrow line about 3⁄16 inch inside the acrylic edge. Test your emerald marker or paint on a spare first. Draw one thin coat, allow it to dry, then add a second coat only if the first looks uneven. Remove low-tack tape before the final coat becomes fully hard so the edge releases cleanly.
Leave the bottom border open where the acrylic enters the LED slot. Paint buildup in that area can change the fit or scratch the base.
Step 6: cure, clean and assemble
Follow the paint manufacturer’s drying and curing guidance. Once cured, remove the back protective film, polish both sides with a clean microfiber cloth and insert the panel straight into its matching base. Do not spray cleaner onto an assembled electrical base; apply cleaner to the cloth away from the electronics.
Step 7: style the tables
Place the lantern where guests approaching the table can see it, usually just outside the floral arrangement. Keep at least several inches between the acrylic and real candle flame, and never cover the base’s charging port or ventilation. Run the power cables only for charging; do not stretch loose USB cables across guest pathways.
Repeat gold in one or two nearby details—flatware, a menu border or a small compote—then stop. The glowing number should look intentional, not part of a heavily themed display.

Troubleshooting
The number looks crooked. Use the grid on the transfer tape and align the bottom of the numeral—not its visual center—to the same horizontal guideline.
The acrylic will not fit the base. Stop rather than forcing it. Confirm thickness, remove only the intended protective film and use a manufacturer-compatible panel.
The glow is uneven. Re-seat the acrylic fully, clean the bottom edge and compare it with a known-good base. Some paint or vinyl covering the insertion edge may block light.
The vinyl will not stick. Remove oils with alcohol, allow the surface to dry and apply at room temperature. Do not touch the adhesive with your fingers.
The border smears. Give each side more drying time and store panels upright without touching painted edges until fully cured.
